Corporate History

 

Soil Technologies was founded in 1982. In 1983, the company received a $2.5 million investment for research and development in the area of sustainable agriculture. During 1983-1986, Soil Tech's research focus was related to agronomic applications for cyanobacteria and microalgae to solve soil mechanical problems and reduce synthetic fertilizer requirements.

The company began product commercialization activities in 1985. Markets included crop farms, horticulture, and the golf course and landscape maintenance industries.

In 1990, the company received funding from the state of Iowa to develop biofungicide products for agricultural and turfgrass applications. Since the successful completion of this project, the company has been active worldwide in the development, manufacturing and marketing of numerous biopesticide, biofertilizer and botanical pesticidal product technologies.

In 1999, Soil Tech launched an online catalog for "E-Commerce" to market its products to customers. The targeted applications are gardens and home lawns. The online catalog markets under the name of America Natural Products Co. The URL is http//www.americanatural.com.
